- Students should arrive at school 15 minutes before the assembly. Soon after the assembly bell, the school gates will be locked and the late comers will return home at the risk of the parents / guardians. Participation in the morning assembly is compulsory for all in St. Mary’s .
- St. Mary’s students should be have in a decent manner on their way to school. They are reminded that the school is judged by their conduct. Therefore, pupils are answerable to the school authorities not only for their conduct in the school but also for their general behaviour outside the school
- Special attention is given in maintaining a high standard of morality and discipline in the school by insisting on regular attendance, punctuality, application to class and homework, neatness of person and dress.
- No student shall leave school premises during school hours or recess without prior PERMISSION OF THE PRINCIPAL.
- After assembly they should go to their classroom, do the prayer, get their books ready in silence should and prepare for the beginning of the class. Perfect silence should be maintained throughout the classes.
- Students are not permitted to enter any classroom other than their own, unless accompanied by a teacher. During the recess, everyone should vacate the classroom.
- During the absence of the teachers, the class leader will be responsible for the order and discipline of the class.
- Running and shouting inside the school building should be avoided. Any damage or disfigurement done to the school property will cause for a fine.
- The school is not responsible for the goods lost and students are not allowed to bring any expensive articles to the school.
- Novels, Magazines, Newspapers and so on are not to be brought to the school.
- All children are expected to bring tiffin with them for the recess.
- Students shall not offer gifts or presents to their teachers.
- All homework should be done neatly and the day’s work always dated.
- Students should treat others respectfully and are responsible for other’s good name. Calling nick name, spreading rumours, use of slang etc. are strictly forbidden, and are liable to strict disciplinary action
- Students are to address their teachers and all members of the school with respect and politeness.
- It is compulsory for every student to take part in curricular and co-curricular activities organized by the school.
- Smoking, pan-parag, chewing- gums etc. are strictly forbidden. St Mary’s expects personal cleanliness from all pupils. The uniforms must be neat and clean, shoes wellpolished, nail pared and hair trimmed. Shaggy or dirty hair may earn demerits for the student.
- No student is permitted to drive a motorized vehicle. Parents are requested to inform the principal if they have permitted their wards to drive a vehicle before he / she is caught doing so.
- All should take an honest pride in keeping the school premises clean by not littering it.
- Girls must tie their hair neatly in two plaits with black bands with parting.
- Wearing of uniform at the school every day is compulsory for all. A student who is not properly dressed and groomed may be excluded from the class or sent back home. Children should therefore be provided with sufficient set of uniform.
- No collection or subscriptions of any kind is to be made in the school. Meeting, picnics must not be arranged without the permission of the principal.
- Students who are unable to take part in the physical training must produce an application signed by their parents.
- Students are advised to speak only English in the school premises.
- With the consent of Principal, any teacher can award marks to students for their highly meritorious acts. These marks will be added to the monthly / terminal results.
- Any teacher can deduct mark from the monthly / terminal result on the following ground:
- (a) Absence without leave application.
- (b) Negligence in the performance of home task.
- (c) Violation of school rules, especially the rules of language.
- No student shall carry mobile phone or any kind of electric gadgets to the school use of electronic gadgets to the school, use of it in school campus is punishable under law.
- We expect the boys to have a short haircut, decent hairstyle with the hair line well above the shirt collar and a clean shaven face.
- Student should take good care of their books and their personal belonging. Each article should be marked with the pupil’s name, admission number and class.
